We’re supporting Pride month

| Social Care Wales

We’re changing our logo during June once again to support Pride month 2023 and to show our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusivity.

We’ll be using the month to raise awareness among our staff about LGBTQ+ rights and the importance of supporting Pride.

We’ll also talk to staff to see what more we can do to support the LGBTQ+ community and to eliminate discrimination, homophobia and transphobia.

Sue Evans, our Chief Executive, said: “We’re delighted once again to show our support for Pride month and stand shoulder to shoulder with members of the LGBTQ+ community.

“As an organisation, we’re committed to anti-discrimination, equality, diversity and inclusion.

“We want LGBTQ+ people in our workforce, in the social care and early years and childcare sectors, as well as those who receive care and support, to see us as an ally in celebrating diversity and tackling discrimination wherever it appears.

“Changing our logo for the month is a symbolic show of solidarity, but we want our support to mean much more by helping raise awareness of LGBTQ+ internally and externally, and making sure that LGBTQ+ workers on our Register are not invisible.

“We also want to show potential LGBTQ+ job applicants that they can feel ‘safe’ and be themselves when working with us.”

Sue added: “I wish a happy Pride month to all social care and early years and childcare workers and people receiving care and support from the LGBTQ+ community in Wales.”
