Take part in our free coaching service to support social care innovation in Wales

| Social Care Wales

We’ve launched a free innovation coaching service to help you get the best out of your ideas to improve care.

The service is the first of its kind for social care in Wales and will provide direct support to people who are developing new ways of working across the sector.

Send us your ideas to improve processes, services and outcomes, and we’ll help you put those ideas into practice.

Our team of innovation coaches are here to support you to test your ideas safely and help them to reach their full potential.

Why should you apply?

  • Our innovation coaching service is free and available to anyone working in a social care role in Wales.
  • You’ll get online support from our team of innovation coaches, who are experts in delivering change.
  • We’ll help you solve problems and build the confidence to continue using your new way of working once the coaching has finished.
  • Everyone who takes part in the coaching service will be eligible to join our ‘coaching club’ – a network of others who’ve been through the same process.

How to apply

We want to hear from anyone in a social care role in Wales who’s working to innovate or improve their practice to deliver better care services.

Give us an overview of your project or idea by completing our application form, or send a short video application to innovationcoaching@socialcare.wales.

From 25 September to 6 October, we want to hear your ideas to improve any aspect of social care services or practice, at any stage of development.

We'll then hold three focused application windows for specific types of projects.

  • Focus on recruitment – From 20 November 2023 to 1 December 2023, we'll be looking to support ideas and projects that improve recruitment in social care.
  • ‘Train the trainer’ – From 29 January 2024 to 9 February 2024, we’ll be looking for opportunities to support people who are helping others to innovate.
  • Supporting partner initiatives – From 25 March 2024 to 5 April 2024, we’ll be looking to partner with initiatives that already support innovation in the sector.

We'll still consider other projects during these focused windows, so please get in touch if you've got a great idea you want to explore.

Each window will be followed by a two-week selection period, with the coaching itself lasting six weeks for those chosen to take part.

Our coaching team will also be on hand to help with the application process, so get in touch if you have any questions.
