A Fitness to Practise Panel that sat on 4-6 October 2021 has found the allegations detailed below proved against Matthew Hughes, a registered domiciliary care worker.
• Accessed confidential files/folders which he was not authorised to access or read
• Stored sensitive personal information related to a supported individual
• Breached the organisation’s Date Protection Policy and GDPR
The Panel found Matthew Hughes current fitness to practise was impaired and imposed a Removal Order which means can no longer work in a regulated social care role in Wales.
Matthew Hughes has the right of appeal to the Care Standards Tribunal within 28 days.
